Nestlé Purina Petcare has announced plans to acquire the pet treats factory of Red Collar Pet Foods in Miami, Oklahoma, from Arbor Investments. The addition, which will mark the 22nd facility owned and operated by Purina in the US, will expand in-house capabilities for innovation and production of dog and cat treats. Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to be concluded in March, were not disclosed.
Between 2020-25, Purina is investing more than 2 bn dollars in factory expansions, new construction and acquisitions, creating more than 850 new jobs, according to a press release. The Red Collar factory was carefully selected based on its current and future production capabilities for soft and meaty pet treats and shared commitment to quality and safety. Purina has worked with the Red Collar team since 2022 to co-manufacture several soft chew pet treats under its Purina treats portfolio and Zuke's brands.
